Dear patients,

I want to personally update you with the status of the clinic as we move through this current COVID-19 pandemic. Firstly, I’d like to reassure all of you that the clinic will remain open with regular business hours. We are of course following guidelines set out by Manitoba Health for portal of entry primary care providers. I’d like to take this opportunity to let you know what you can expect going forward.

In following Manitoba Health and other health agencies we will be following a social distancing protocol, attempting to create 2 meters between individuals coming and going, sanitizing tables after each patient with a min. 70% rubbing alcohol solution. We will be increasing the spacing of adjustments to minimize the number of patients in the office at any given time.

Although not mandatory, we are running 2 medical grade air purification systems as we have always done ensuring clean air circulates constantly. Our wonderful and dedicated staff have been well versed in proper sanitizing of equipment, tables and all high touch surfaces and are continuously cleaning all areas you may come into contact with.

I know that everyone feels differently about their level of comfort in this difficult time so if at any point you would like extra steps taken please don’t be afraid to ask, we will accommodate. Masks may be worn, gloves will be made available etc.

As many of you know already if you are experiencing any symptoms you should self isolate and should not attempt to visit the clinic until you’re feeling better. This comes as per recommendation of Manitoba Health.

The vast majority of all who get this virus will experience mild symptoms and recover however, we must take extra precautions to care for our most vulnerable elderly and immunocompromised patients to help stop the spread.

As the situation changes dramatically by the day and even by the hour at times we will do our best to keep you informed and updated on any changes.

Should you need to speak with me directly please feel free to e-mail us at trtcanada@shaw.ca, should you have an emergency or just need some advice call us at 204-474-2002 at the office, after hours my cell number is 204-228-3187.

Please check our Facebook page regularly for updates as things are continuously changing.

Sincerely,
Dr. Sony Canteenwala
